The Town of Southern Shores joins the community in mourning the loss of former Mayor Thomas Bennett, whose dedication and service left a lasting impact on the Town and its residents.
A funeral service celebrating Tom’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Duck Church, 1214 Duck Road, Duck, NC 27949.
Tom was known for his steadfast leadership, commitment to public service, and deep love for the Southern Shores community. He will be remembered with gratitude and respect by all who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside him.
The Town extends its heartfelt condolences to Tom’s family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.
