The Town of Southern Shores encourages residents to consider contacting their local, state, and federal elected representatives regarding the proposed Mid-Currituck Bridge project.

The Town has long supported the Mid-Currituck Bridge due to the potential benefits for the Outer Banks; including improved hurricane evacuation capacity, reduced seasonal traffic congestion, and enhanced long-term mobility for residents, visitors, and emergency responders.

Community input plays an important role in helping decision-makers understand local perspectives on transportation needs and infrastructure investments. Residents who support the project may wish to share their views and explain why they believe the bridge would benefit the region.

To assist residents who would like to express their views, a template letter is provided below that can be customized and sent directly to elected officials.
