**TOWN MEETINGS**

Town Council meetings are the first Tuesday of each month 7:00 P.M. and the third Tuesday of each month 8:00 A.M. Pitts Center, Town Complex. For meeting agenda's, summaries and mintues go to "Minutes"

**PLANNING BOARD**

Third Monday of each month 7:00 P.M., Pitts Center.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING LOCAL LAWS:

  • 25 mph speed limit in the Town unless otherwise posted.
  • Parking on street shoulders is by Town permit and only where specifically permitted by signs. Permits can be obtained at Town Hall for property owners only. Visitors must get guest parking passes from property owners for Civic Association lots.
  • Dogs must be leashed at all times when off the owner’s property. No animals are allowed on the beach May 15th to September 15th. From September 16th till May 15th dogs must be on a leash and cleaned up after on the beach.
  • Driving on beach or dunes is prohibited in the Town.
  • Discharging of firearms or explosives in the Town is not permitted.
  • Fireworks that detonate or explode, spin or propel themselves through the air are illegal.
  • No loud noises after 10 P.M. and before 7 A.M.
  • Sea Oats and dune grass are protected by federal and state law. Please do not pick or mutilate them. They stabilize our sand dunes, which protect our Town during hurricanes and nor’easters.
  • Travel trailers or RV’s may not be hooked up to existing cottage facilities or used as sleeping or living accommodations. No camping.
  • Beach fires are not allowed.
  • Red warning flags are posted on aluminum poles every half mile along the beach when it is unsafe and illegal to swim. Persons using surfboards must have them leashed to their bodies to protect others. For more information go to our beaches.
  • Garbage and recycling containers must be pulled back near the house within 24 hours of pick-up. Garbage and recycling schedule, flyer.
  • Check with the Town for restrictive requirements that are placed for use of personal watercraft. PWC Regulations
